The Sif Collection

The Sif lingerie collection (#KLVxSif) is a collaboration between independent designers Karolina Laskowska and Vanyanís, designed and made together in Norway. In 2019 Lowana (Vanyanís) travelled to Karolina’s studio in Norway so that they could design and make the collection together. (Due to Covid-19 and Lowana’s maternity leave, the release of the collection was delayed until 2022.)

The Sif lingerie collection is inspired by our shared love of exquisite materials and the classic combination of black and gold. The gorgeous leavers lace featured in the collection has been carefully cut to showcase the beautiful design of the fabric, piece by piece. Each piece of lingerie is expertly crafted entirely by hand and the limited edition collection is one you won’t want to miss.

We sourced luxurious, high quality materials for this collection that features stunning soft leavers lace (that has previously been used in ready-to-wear Vanyanís corset collections) and a buttery soft, stretch microfibre that has to be felt to be believed. Satin-finish elastic strapping, luxe gold-plated hardware and black freshwater pearls are used across the entire collection.

The collection is made using Karolina Laskowska’s expertly-developed patterns to create lingerie that makes you look, and feel, your very best. This collection is available in sizes 8-18, with many of the pieces featuring flexible sizing due to adjustable strapping.

We believe in celebrating craftsmanship and working to create special pieces that will be treasured and loved for years. Rather than designing for a passing trend, we focused on making lingerie that would become a timeless favourite in your wardrobe.

Behind the Scenes

Karolina and Lowana first met at the 2014 Oxford Conference of Corsetry where they instantly bonded over their shared love of corsets. Despite the distance of Europe and Australia they’ve managed to share many inspiring experiences together – visiting fashion exhibitions in Paris and England, and staying connected via the internet in between visits. In 2019 they decided to collaborate on a lingerie collection together and in November of that year Lowana traveled to Norway for two weeks so that they could design and make the collection together.

Prior to this trip they discussed designs and fabrics. They decided to use a striking black leavers lace that Lowana had previously used in her ready-to-wear corset collection (released in 2017) so that the lingerie would match. They chose a range of lingerie styles from Karolina’s expertly-developed patterns and decided to expand Karolina’s usual size range up several sizes to include a size 18. With fabrics and styles decided on they ordered the materials they would need and Lowana planned her trip.

In the first week of the trip Karolina was very unwell so work was put on hold. She recovered by the second week and we worked extra hard to get most of the production done. Work progressed at an epic pace, fueled by caffeine and many cinnamon and custard buns. Lowana was in charge of cutting the lace and materials, and Karolina worked her magic sewing.

We decided to photograph the collection on and by ourselves, designing the set and doing our own hair and makeup. In the photos you can really see the magic that close cropping and photoshop can create! The official lookbook was entirely photographed on the floor of Karolina’s former studio, with the finest flowers that Mester Grønn’s 3-for-2 special offer could provide. We even braved the cold for some shots in the snow! Special thanks to Karolina’s husband Alex for helping with the shoot.

Whilst the production of the collection was finished by the end of 2019, the release of the collection was put on hold due to Lowana moving countries, the Covid-19 pandemic, pregnancy and then Lowana’s maternity leave. It’s been a real mission to get the site updated, the stock labeled and reliable shipping options sorted, but it’s so exciting that it has all finally come together and we can share the Sif Collection with you now.

This lingerie collection features seven garments, designed to mix and match, available in six sizes. The collection is ready-to-ship (excluding the underwire bras which are made-to-order). Due to the limited nature of the lace, this collection is unable to be restocked.

Sif High Neck Lace Bralet
Lingerie

Designed as the perfect piece of transitional lingerie to outerwear, this bralet is meant to be seen. The intricate lace offers an exquisite addition to a low cut neckline. The fine leavers lace is trimmed with ultra soft, plush finished elastic. The satin strap band and shoulder straps are both fully adjustable with luxe gold plated components. Two darts offer gentle lift to the bustline. For fuller bust customers seeking more support, this is a fantastic style to layer over your regular bra, or our Sif balconette bra.

This bralet is sized by dress size rather than bra size. For the best fit, please check your bust measurement against the size chart located in the tabs below. The band of this bralet is adjustable to suit a range of ribcage sizes.

Sif 8 Strap Suspender Belt
Lingerie

A decadent suspender belt in symmetrically cut leavers lace, with gathered scallops forming ‘fins’ at the hip line. 8 suspender straps keep your stockings in line, with a firm plush elastic at the waistline anchoring this style in place. All metal components have a luxe gold plated finish, and a freshwater pearl charm embellishes the centre waist. Fastens with a hook and eye at the centre back, and lined with beige tulle.

Sif Harness String Thong
Lingerie

This thong offers minimal coverage but maximum impact, with graphic satin strapping at the hips and waistline. Metal components have a luxe gold plated finish, with the waist and hips fully adjustable for extra fit flexibility. The centre lace panels have been individually hand cut for the most effective pattern placement. The gusset is lined in cotton, and elastic trims have a plush back. Size S (8-10) uses a narrower 10mm satin strapping, and sizes M (12-18) and L (16-18) use a wider 16mm strapping.

Sif High Leg Briefs

A full coverage brief with a sleek high leg cut. The front panel showcases symmetrical leavers lace, with each piece individually hand cut for the most effective placement. The full cut back is made of ultra stretchy and buttery soft microfibre. The gusset is lined in cotton and all elastic has a plush finish. This style is embellished with a genuine freshwater pearl charm, which has been hand wire wrapped with gold plated wire.

A graphic low rise brief. Crossover panels of buttery soft, stretch microfibre frame placement cut leavers lace. Satin finish strapping and luxe gold plated components form adjustable harness strapping. The gusset is lined in cotton and elastic trims have a plush finish. Sif Harness Underwire Bra

This underwire bra combines exquisite elegance with a supportive, balconette cut. Perfect for both the boudoir and elevating your everyday wear. Details like the delicate eyelash edged lace and delicate harness strapping offer a seductive edge to any outfit when peeking out of the neckline.

This style is expertly constructed, with luxe details and high comfort finishing at the forefront of the design. Metal components are finished with gold plating, and a handmade freshwater pearl charm trims the centre gore. The bra is lined with a sturdy beige mesh, and the English knitted satin finish strapping is fully adjustable. The elastic trims and underwire casings feature a plush brushed finish for ultimate softness against the skin. Synthetic baleen bones are encased in the sides of the bra to offer additional support.
