We discovered these ‘Glass Head Stretch Pins’ years ago and haven’t used anything else since! At Vanyanís we only stock sewing supplies that we use in our atelier and can personally recommend. In our opinion, they are the best and we use them for all of our sewing, whether we’re making a couture corset or a bespoke coat. These pins are super sharp and quite fine which means you’re less likely to leave pin marks or holes in your fabric (it’s always best to check on a scrap first). The glass head also means you can iron over them without it melting.
35mm x 2.5mm
60 pieces per packet.
Made in Japan.
Using quality tools really does make a difference in your productivity and enjoyment of sewing. Once you try these you’ll want to throw out all your other pins. Why not give them a go and see what a difference they make to your work.

Tiny Gold Embroidery Scissors
Sewing SuppliesAt Vanyanís we do a lot of very delicate sewing and for particularly fiddly projects that requires very sharp, tiny scissors. We love these gold embroidery scissors for cutting out lace appliqué, trimming threads and all sorts of fine sewing work. They are lightweight, have a sharp fine point and are the perfect compact size for controlled and precise cutting of detailed work. They are made from stainless steel.
Scissors measure 60mm / 2½" Blade measures 19mm / ¾" Brand: Triumph Made in China.
At Vanyanís we only stock sewing supplies that we use in our atelier and can personally recommend.
Ornate Embroidery Scissors
Sewing SuppliesWho doesn't love ornate embroidery scissors?! As you may have worked out by now, at Vanyanís we are slightly obsessed with all things black and gold, so when a student bought her embroidery scissors to class we had to find out where she got them from so we could have a pair of our own.... and then other students started asking and the next thing we knew we had to get them in due to overwhelming demand! These embroidery scissors are perfect for cutting out lace appliqué, trimming threads and all sorts of fine sewing work. They have a super fine tip and are an excellent sturdy little pair of scissors.
Scissors measure 110mm / 4¼" Blade measures 33mm / 1 ¼" Brand: Xlassé Made in China.
At Vanyanís we only stock sewing supplies that we use in our atelier and can personally recommend.
Clover Open Sided Adjustable Thimble
Sewing SuppliesWe discovered these amazing thimbles a few years ago and now can't manage any hand sewing without them! In our opinion, these Clover Open Sided Adjustable Thimbles are an essential tool for your hand sewing. Because they are open sided, they allow your finger to "breathe" (it's so annoying when your fingers get 'clammy' whilst hand sewing) and if you prefer to keep your fingernails long, these thimbles don't get in the way of that. Using a thimble can help to prevent your hands getting tired when doing a lot of beading or hand sewing (it certainly has made a positive difference to how long we can sit hand sewing). At Vanyanís we only stock sewing supplies that we use in our atelier and can personally recommend.
Available in adjustable sizes 'small' and 'medium. 1 thimble per packet. Made in Japan.
Using quality tools really does make a difference in your productivity and enjoyment of sewing. If you don't already sew with a thimble, set yourself the challenge of learning to work with one as once you've mastered that skill you'll find a it makes hand sewing sew (ha!) much easier. Until we tried these, we'd never enjoyed using a thimble before. It took a couple of sessions to get used to it, but then it became an integral part of our process. Why not give it try and see what a difference these thimbles can make to your work.

Retractable Sewing Measuring Tape
Sewing SuppliesWe're in love with all things black and gold so of course we had to find a measuring tape to suit! This retractable measuring tape is great for keeping around your studio or in your handbag (when out fabric shopping). The tape features metric and imperial measurements and is soft and flexible.
150cm/60" Made in China.
