Vanyanís Corset Busk Pendant (Silver or Gold)
JewelleryFor corset lovers everywhere! With this delightful necklace pendant you can wear part of a corset every day. It's your very own little token to symbolize your love of corsets that you can wear anytime, in any occasion whether to work or a special event. This unique pendant is made from one of our original Engraved Corset Busk loops, that has been handcrafted in Melbourne and transformed into an elegant pendant. Available in "silver" or "gold" (see tabs below for further information).
The loop pendant has been expertly engraved with a two-tone antique black laurel design (reminiscent of Victorian corset details) and then transformed into a pendant (complete with a sterling silver or 9ct yellow gold loop) by a talented jeweller. The pendants are sold with or without a chain so that the wearer has full control over how they wear this little delicacy - whether that's on a soft satin ribbon, on your favourite chain, on a charm bracelet or even added to an existing necklace or garment, the choice is yours with this lovely corset pendant.
Our customer Emmelie said (on receiving her necklace) "I love how it must look quite mysterious to a non-corset wearer: it's obviously a very deliberate, even utilitarian shape - but what of?! I can't wait to be asked about it."It is beautifully presented in a branded black jewellery box, making it the perfect gift for yourself or a loved one. Make every day a luxury, with a Vanyanís Corset Pendant.
Please allow up to 2 weeks for manufacture of this item as it is made-to-order.

Wellington Corset Pattern Making: The Tape Method [Date: TBC]
School Shop, ClassesCorset Pattern Making: The Tape Method is the perfect introduction to making corset patterns for those that may not have prior experience in flat pattern drafting or the time to invest in learning complex pattern drafting methods. In this course you will learn how to make a perfectly fitting "basic" corset pattern using the 'Tape Method'. Instead of taking extensive body measurements we will tape the body and develop the pattern in 3D before transferring it to paper (2D). After transferring it you'll learn some flat patterning skills to develop the pattern into a beautiful corset shape.
The methods taught in this course are very 'hands on' and there is little-to-no math's involved at all. If traditional pattern drafting feels too complicated, too structured, or you just want to use your hands to create, then the methods taught in this course are for you. This approach will help you learn what different figures look like in pattern form without the stress of wondering if you're getting it right or not. If you will be making a pattern for a body shape you've never patterned for before then these skills will help you level up quickly.
It's always helpful to learn more than one way to achieve something - it gives you the tools to pick and choose the best approach (for you) for any project. The pattern drafting skills you learn in this course can be applied to bridal bodices, couture gowns and corsets.
The focus of this class is to learn how to create an overbust corset pattern using the 'Tape Method' and then fit it perfectly. During the class you will learn how to make an overbust corset toile (mock-up) to test your pattern. We'll share all our best corset fitting secrets with you and show you how and where to apply changes to your toile. After the fitting, you'll learn how to accurately transfer those changes to your pattern. At the end of this pattern drafting course you'll have a personalized corset pattern to keep and the confidence and knowledge of how to fit and design more patterns independently.
