Book your place in this Beginner’s Corsetry Class and learn how to make your own steel-boned genuine underbust corset. At the end of this corsetry course you’ll have a custom fitted black corset and personalized Vanyanís pattern to keep. You’ll gain the confidence, knowledge and inspiration to build on your success and make more corsets on your own. Receive expert guidance from an industry professional in a fun, warm environment. Protected: Ruby Underbust Corset Pattern
Patterns, School ShopThe Vanyanís Cincher Corset Pattern features a pointed front, two framing points at the back and a dramatic silhouette. This corset pattern has seven panels (per side) and is patterned to lace up closed on the wearers body (if you prefer a 2" lacing gap, simply select one size smaller). It is a shorter style of corset and allows the wearer lots of mobility.
Initially developed for Vanyanís RTW Corsets, then later used in our classes, this pattern comes with three options for a front busk placket (and accompanying cutting guide) so you can use different methods for your unique creations.
The pattern has been designed to be as user friendly as possible. Seam allowances are clearly marked on all panels as well as a helpful letter system across of the top of the panel pieces (to help you sew the panels together correctly). We recommend sewing a toile (mock-up) to check and adjust the fit, before commencing your final project.
Available in corset sizes 18" to 44" it can fit natural waists of 20" to 50". To work out which size you'll need, please refer to the size chart located in the tabs below. This pattern is sold in "packs" of three sizes and comes with corset lacing instructions. Sewing instructions are not included. Royal Black has an excellent sew-a-long on her Patreon, which we highly recommend. This pattern is licensed for personal use only (please refer to the tabs below for full terms of use).
Once purchased, the files will be immediately emailed to you as a PDF in A4 format, so you can print it out and get started with your waist cincher straight away. Tip: make sure you print the file at "100%", not "shrink to fit". There is a printed scale measurement on each page so you can check that it has printed correctly.

Ruby Underbust Corset
Ready to Wear, CorsetsThe Ruby Underbust Corset is a luxurious, limited edition design from our first ready-to-wear corset collection. Featuring exquisite black lace that has been carefully cut and sewn to best accentuate your curves. The lace is laid over a deep red satin and the corset is bound with a decadent silk duchess binding and laces up with a soft satin ribbon.
One of the trademark features of a Vanyanís corset is the sleek silhouette and smooth, wrinkle-free finish on the fabric. The Ruby Corset is made with the best materials we could find (including a European coutil strength layer, German steel black busk and the most luxurious satin ribbon lacing). It has 30 spiral and flat steel bones, but still feels 'light' to wear as the quality fabrics provide strength and support without being bulky. The Ruby Corset is cut to frame your bust and features a high back for a smooth silhouette. The corset comes with a structured modesty panel that is easily removable without having to unlace the corset (we used snaps!). Wellington Corset Pattern Drafting: Part 2 [Date: TBC]
School Shop, ClassesBuilding on your pattern drafting knowledge you gained in Part One, in Corset Pattern Drafting Part Two you will learn how to draft your own overbust corset patterns. The pattern drafting skills you learn in this course can be applied to bridal bodices, couture gowns and corsets.
Fitting busts can be tricky, but they don't have to be. In this course you'll learn how to shape and support busts of all sizes. We'll share all our best tips and tricks with you so that you can create overbust patterns that fit perfectly, with a beautiful silhouette using the unique Vanyanís pattern drafting method. The process is broken into easy-to-understand steps, giving you the knowledge to make a pattern from anyone's measurements.
The focus of this class is to learn how to create overbust corset patterns from any measurements and then fit them perfectly. During the class you will learn how to make an overbust corset toile (mock-up) to test your pattern. We'll share all our best bust fitting secrets with you and show you how and where to apply changes to your toile. After the fitting, you'll learn how to accurately transfer those changes to your pattern.
At the end of this pattern drafting course you'll have a personalized overbust corset pattern to keep and the confidence and knowledge of how to fit and draft more patterns independently.

Pregnancy Corset Pattern [PREORDER]
Patterns, School ShopThe Vanyanís Pregnancy Corset Pattern is a stunning piece of corset engineering. Inspired by historical corsets, this pattern was designed and developed during the designers' own pregnancy (pictured). A pregnancy corset does not constrict the waist - it provides pain-relieving support to the belly, bust, back and hips. Elastic panels add flexibility and the adjustable side and back lacing expand as the pregnancy progresses. The lacing allows for a size increase of up to 10" making it the perfect solution to provide comfortable support to a growing pregnant body.
Available in one size (see the tabs below for sizing notes). Laced closed, it fits: Bust: 42", Waist: 32", High Hips: 39" (expands up to 10").
This digital pattern is beautifully designed and includes the following:
- Version 'A' is a 'flat layout' (showing the detailed stitching and bone placement [and types]).
- Version 'B' is a simple 'working' pattern that can easily be adjusted to your size.
- Version 'C' shows the seam allowance and grainline placement.
- A pattern for a belly support band (for use in the third trimester)
- Lacing instructions for the back and sides
