If you’re passionate about corsets but frustrated by the challenge of making a corset that fits you perfectly, then you’re in the right place. Many people who love corsets face fitting difficulties when it comes to making their own bespoke corsets, especially in the area of upper back overspill.

Watch the replay of my two hour workshop “Learn How To Fix Corset Back Overspill” and say goodbye to one of the most common fitting challenges corset makers of all levels face.

  • The Opportunity in Corset Making

Have you ever dreamed of creating your own custom corsets that perfectly fit your unique body shape? Imagine the sense of pride and accomplishment you’ll feel when you wear a corset that not only accentuates your curves but also showcases your incredible sewing skills.

When I started my corset making journey I didn’t really have a proper understanding of how empowering developing this skill would be. The feeling of control over my figure and sense of accomplishment with my sewing ability was so world changing for me that it’s the main reason why I started teaching the subject (way back in 2014). I wanted to share the joy!

Corset making is more than just another sewing project; it’s an art form that blends creativity, precision, and a touch of history. The opportunity to master this craft opens up a wide world of possibilities.

  • Pregnancy Corset Photoshoot

I’ve always been fascinated with Victorian maternity and pregnancy corsets, so last year during my pregnancy I finally had the opportunity to experiment and make one for myself. Whilst I looked to history for inspiration, I decided to design my own “modern hybrid” interpretation (rather than make a replica of any existing extant design). Using a self drafted pattern, spot broche coutil, German synthetic whalebone, elastic and lots of adjustable lacing I was able to create a comfortable, supportive corset that fit throughout the entirety of my pregnancy. Read on to see a gallery of beautiful photos by Yvonne Liew.
